If you are not targeting Coots for their highly generous daily limits, Coot decoys can also have an essential role in a duck hunter’s decoy strategy. All-coot decoy spreads are natural in appearance and educated ducks don't encounter Coot spreads as often as traditional duck spreads. A few dozen Coot decoys, with a couple of those decoys attached to a jerk string, will communicate to other ducks there is delicious feed in the area.
